Are they in or outside the netted-in area? I'll leave that up to the viewer. Either way, the twins seem very unsure of what may or may not be on the other side.

As do I. The net-wall idea wasn't originally part of it. But then, as I was finishing the twins' outlines, I thought, "What is it they're looking so apprehensive of?"

For the net, I used a cross-stitch pattern from a set I found here on DA, and enlarged it in a separate layer to fit the area to the right of the post. Simple, but it works.
I tried using a filter to distort it to account for water current, but that ended horribly. So, we may assume it is secured very tightly.

Have you tried the pucker and enlarge tool? It might mess everything up, but it's be neat to see what it would do for underwater distorting!

I've thought about spending the money to 'upgrade' to Photoshop, but hearing of how it freezes and is prone to becoming bugged, I'm thinking I'll stick with what I know works.

I have not had photoshop freeze on me or ever bugged... but I also don't officialy own a version, I am subscribed to the Adobe creative suit for 50 dollars a month. But, it is not as smooth or user friendly as GIMP. Photoshop seems to have too many effects and not enough stuff for painting. I think it's great that you stick to what works, that's why I have not switched to Paint Tool SAI... I know photoshop and I can use it so I'm not willing to spend money to learn a whole new program!
