I am really proud of this in person, not so happy with the scan.
...It seems more and more lately that my art is what makes it possible for me to get through the day.

It reminds me of a character in a book I just finished; Hadassah.
And congrats on the DD, it was well deserved! I can't imagine how many hours was put into this.

Haha, this may seem a bit cocky, but the initial inspiration was another piece of mine -- a much older one: [link] I saw the branch wings and wanted to expand on that idea. Somehow the rest blossomed out of that.

The veins are such a great detail for me, although the two sets of wings are obviously the focal point.
