Description
Here we have a little batch of doodles, this time of probably the only adopt I'll ever buy (I prefer making my own designs); he spoke to me, I had to get him. I got him from Devinital-TLK
I started by drawing the boy because I wanted to draw him in my style, and the rest came with it.
I also gave him a sister! They're both second gen leopons (aka their father was a leopon and their mom is the lioness drawn here); I have a lot to say but let's start with how they came to be.

Their mother is Uzembe , one of Zira's soldiers; after the prides reuinon, she had a very hard time fitting in with the pridelanders, her abrasive personality clashed a lot with her pridesisters and she would often end up only spending time with the spotted sisters and other ex-oudsiders. After a while of watching many of the pride with their cubs she tought that perhaps becomig a mother would help her settle in better, or keep her occupied if nothing else, so she sook out a rogue male to father her cubs. She was quite picky with the ones she met, often considering them too mellow, until one night she met a lion with pitch black fur; he seemed at least a bit more interesting and she was worried she may go out of season if she didn't hurry up, and so she spent a couple of nights with him before he left.
The attempts were indeed successful and Uzembe soon found herself pregnant, but while all her pridesisters congratulated her and showered her with attention, she didn't feel any more at home; she was unsure about what to do next, even briefly considering leaving to become a rogue, until she overheard the royals talking about the Night pride, how they were low in numbers and looking for new pride members. After talking about it with her aging mother and some friends, she decided to ask if she could go live there, chaperoning Kion on his next visit; she wasn't the only one either, two more ex-outsiders tagged along as well (will talk about them on another post).
And so she went to live to the tree of life, bringing herself and her unborn cubs to increase the pride's numbers; the change of air seemed to do Uzembe a lot of good, the treck was long but worth it, the smaller pride made her feel much more at ease. Things were seeming to be going alright, until she went into labor way too early, giving birth to two runty and weak cubs; Nirmala and Makini were able to keep them stable until they got a bit stronger, but even as they crawled around, the girl's back legs were unnaturally splayed outwards, they assumed that she would get better with age, but while her brother started walking, Ascarya could only crawl. There was worry that she would never be able to walk properly, but her energy and will to follow her brother around made Makini hope, she tried helping the cub walk by holding her up and keeping the legs into position, and noticed she would indeed try to walk "normally", so after some trial and error she made a sling out of leaves and vines to help the girl walk, and it worked! Slowly but surely, Ascarya started improving, and by the time they were talking and running around proper she didn't need the sling anymore. She forever has slightly outward-facing paws, her gait is a bit funny looking, and her leg pops upwards when she sleeps on her side, but she can run and move around as much as anyone else in the pride.
Another thing that confused most in the pride was how the twins didn't seem to grow out of their cub spots, if anything they gained more with age; unkown to Uzembe the rogue she mated with was in fact a leopon, because of how they only met at night and how his fur was pitch black, she didn't see the spots on his coat, or how his mane was less than full.

Oook on to the drawings themselves:
- the boy, named him Anautho. I didn't change much aside from drawing him in my style, he never grows a proper mane but what little he does get is very fluffy, he's a snarky little sassmaster that likes to play rough. Like his sister he got partial melanism from their dad.
- Ascarya! She looks a bit more like her momma, she also has melanism, just in slightly different spots, she has birth defects on her tail and ears, both being slightly bent. On top of that let's address the other big thing: she was born with swimmer syndrome, it's a real thing and there's a lot of videos of puppies and kittens with it; I was mainly inspired to incorporate this in my story after I remembered a video of a snow leopard cub born with this very same problem being helped in a similar manner to how I described in the story.
- Uzembe taking care of her cubs a while after their birth, she's worried because of their bad health, especially for the girl; being hybrid is part of why they're so sickly.
- The twins during Ascarya's physiotherapy! Having Anautho around was what encouraged her the most. Featuring a teen/young adult Makini... or part of her that is, she's not the focus here so I didn't bother to draw her fully hgjkshglkjhla.

I'm chipping away at multiple art pieces at once while also obsessing over pokemon BDSP, right now I'm shiny hunting Dialga via soft resets (aka full odds... I hat myself), which is the only reason I managed to get stuff done today, I need SOMETHING to do while I keep doing the encounter over and over kghslkj.
