Description
Another exercise I did to try and find my drawing style for pokemon, I know I literally just drew marshtomp and mudkip a few days ago, but seeing constant MH gameplay and news I just wanted to try and draw the whole swampert line, mega included, onto the amphibian skeleton model. I realized my preferred style is midway trough the realistic fantasy anatomy in mainline MH, and the cartoony anime style pokemon has... so basically MH stories style lmao.I mainly used zamtrios and tetranadon as inspiration for the body shapes and pose, and I also got to thinking of how they would fit in a MH styled game: mudkip would be endemic life, so a little support creature you pick up and keep in your inventory until you need help in battle, maybe he can inflict bubbleblight on a monster? Marshtomp would be a low level pack monster, like ludroth or izuchi and swampert would be a big mainzone monster, like a miniboss of an area, I'd say on the intermediate difficulty level.
Mega swampert would be a G-rank, high level monster, you'd start the quest battling a very difficult swampert, then halfway trough it gathers energy from crystals in the enviroment and goes mega, with a partial healt regeneration, ulterior obvious stat boosts and a new moveset.
Going forward MH is going to be a big reference point when I do creature design I'm sure, I just love it so much. Not just with main monsters, it does a great job with smaller creatures like endemic life as well.
