Was at my grandma's place with my dad and decided to doodle this on a post-it, then switched to my pc to clean it up/adjust it and color it.

Nefu again, but this time Makini's also here! This was some expression practice with mandrills, but also a way for me to figure out a design for Makini as an adult that wouldn't look like she was still a kid, and a bit of an update on Nefu, mostly on his mane.

The hard part on Makini was figuring out a way of drawing a female mandrill, because there's virtually none in any TLK media that isn't TLG (her mom still has a baby face); color wise I made her nose duller, because irl only male mandrills have bright colors. I also headcanon all mandrills to have either blonde or dark grey manes (again inspired by their irl conterparts), they get white only when they get middle-aged and older, so young rafiki was actually blonde! I kinda want to draw that, and more mandrill characters in general.

Pro tip: don't anger mandrills, idk who made Nefu mad, but they're gonna regret it.
