Look, another Don't Break the Chain redraw! I keep expecting to do more of these than I actually end up doing, because there are quite a few drawings I really like... but I can't find the time to do all the ones I want. But perhaps more importantly, look! My first proper attempt at soft shading since Fruity Derg last November! Yes, I finally have the time for it again. I spent a lot of time getting it reeeal smooooooth...

I guess the reason I picked drawing #318 (bottom left on the page shown above) was because I've wanted to do an anthro Latias pic for absolutely ages - she is one of my favourite Pokemon, after all. There was this one that I tried doing way back in February 2016, but just couldn't get it right. I just abandoned it as an unfinished sketch. Here it is, viewable for the first time ever!

Egh. I think I made a good call there. But that just left it lurking in the back of my mind for over two years. And having drawn a cute Latias for Don't Break the Chain, I saw my chance to finally get it out of my system. Actually, now that I think about it, why DID it take me so long?! But anyway, like I said, I spent a long time getting the shading smooth. I'm still trying to figure this whole shading thing out (I swear I use a different method every time), but I think this is probably my best on that front. It turned out a little weird in some places, but I like it overall. I like the colour theme too. Here's a WIP I posted in a journal before:

Unlike with Leafboi , the other redraw, pretty much everything got tweaked, overhauled or otherwise moved around. The only things which stayed in pretty much the exact same place were her right bicep and left collarbone, funnily enough. The knees in particular were way too high for the pose to look natural, although it made sense when the upper torso and knees were the only visible part.

Next, I want to start on what will be deviation #500...
