checkpoint...A small, mech-guarded checkpoint in a battered city...
Again a city-scene, got the idea sometime today, and wanted to try it in the evening. Doesn't work the way I intended, there is definitely something missing, but I can't put my finger on it!
Well, on to the next!
Not sure, spend the evening on it, so I'd guess 3-4 hours with a lot of experimenting...

i mean painted comics, like what you do
just thought about it, because the last 2 pics had a lot the same mood, and there might be a story behind it (or added afterwards), and since you do pics not words, a full comic (with this added story) would be great to give all your pics an order and purpose besides being your training/"sketches"

I love the tensely grim feel to it, as if the guarded checkpoints are the only thing strong enough to defend against the foreboding opposition.

huh, interesting way to see it! i didn't think of that... for me, it was like after the battle, with the victorious party securing the area with guarded checkpoints, to have nearby means against remaining forces...
anyway, as long as it works, and gives you some story to it, i'm more than happy!

but... actually there is the softest blueish green grey in the shadows, and some pale yellow in the bg. if you download it and make it bw you see the difference.
