I like how the strongest of angles (like the elbow) are shaded softly to the point of a true skin-like texture. The highlighting is subtle and well place. Wonderful piece I'll definitely add to my faves!

thanks so much! hours and hours of blending. although i love the way nupastels look when just used in big streaky chunks of color. they have a lot of potential.

oh my. it looks so great. in class today a female model took a similar pose for a couple hours and the person next to me drew her in new pastel and placed the figure in a scene on the beach.... I couldn't help but be reminded of this drawing. <3
