Very clever- Elsa looks very much like royalty of the real 19th century in this picture! Also very young for21, but I guess those features would make her look young for her age. An interesting blend of Elsa's features with real historical ones (actually the Hanovarians actually did all have huge eyes, though not on an anime scale!)

While a real portrait from the period would of course be finished to a much higher degree of precision, in terms of pose, costume, colour, and lighting it's bang on: this could well be an artist's study, a preparation for the final product to present to the queen. Very nice.

This is fantastic! I love how you managed to keep some elements of the original, while still attempting to make it a touch more 'accurate' (or as accurate as any Disney movie could be). Especially since Elsa's coronation gown is one of those weird ones that doesn't really fit the clothing scheme they were going for with everyone else (dropped necklines, little/no sleeves, and fuller skirts). I like the compromises you made to fit the style, and I love how it turned out. Even if she does look a little sad, but...well, that's just canon.

I thought it fit quite well because she's meant to stand out- she's covered up because she's repressing who she really is. Also, I figured that as the Queen being crowned she's be much more formally dressed than everyone else. It was based in the 1860's or so... agree, the painting reflects this era well. I'm thinking of Queen Victoria...
