Cheers El Davidos - haven't heard from you at all! Hope everything's fine in Hong Kong.
This game's very different from Ico - much more action packed (well, the bosses are) There's some lovely relaxing areas too, out on the plains; I bet you'd like it.
Ooo, I read in your journal you've been obssessing over Firefly - same here! Just watched the whole series and it was fantastic - I want another series!!

I love this compositional approach out of all your styles of drawing, very clear and immediate, kind of like Charles Vess and Frank Miller(in sincity mode). Also I add to your praise to the cool and smart Firefly, I'd just brought the series slashed half price, watching two to four episodes a day. I find Objects In Space to be the best written chapter. River rocks! Hopefully there'll be a new series or another Serenity. If you like Whedon, you should most definately check out his highly accomplished Astonishing X-men series, which is up to issue 13 0r 14 now. Just google it!

Thankyou, certainly am a fan of them. Firefly is just so amazing! I'm currently rewatching it, as my sister is the process of seeing it for the first time.
I think Mal is just brilliant, they all the way - I like the way they always end up stabbed, beaten up, shot etc; no-one's safe! I didn't know he's even done any X-Men stuff! Will definitely keep an eye out for it, cheers!

I see that we have a certain addiction to...........Shadow of the Colossus!!! I've seen, but never played...looks beautiful........hell the soundtrack is fabfuckingtastic! XD
Coolios of piece Astio....I'm pretty much putting me money on the creature as it looks as it's tail is ready to strike from above. ^_^

Oooo you should get it, Ryan! You'd end up loving it even more! (Which is obviously a good thing )
Thankyou! Yep, I'm thinking the Creature too; I think the guy might defelct the claws, but he'd have to be extra quick to catch that tail too!

Oh my dearest John, you've used plural when there is only one colossus. But well done for remembering, innit!
All I can say is, you must play the game, then decide who to root for.
Get a memory card!

I know I absolutely love it - my only complaints are that it's not long enough and the camera can be a bit awkward at times. But besides from that it's awesome, deffinately in my top 5.
I'm currently doing hard time attack mode, I've done them all except the last one now, he's enfuriating!
I highly reccomend Ico, if you haven't already played it. It's quite alot different to SOTC in terms of gameplay, but it's equally beautiful and still an awesome game in it's own right.

greyflea In reply to Tua [2006-03-28 22:18:42 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I'd have loved it to be longer too! Mind you, there's always the time attack/hard modes, not to mention the fruit and lizard stuff.! The last one drove me insane, especially once you get on his hand and he starts flailing it around, with the camera going crazy.
I have indeed played it! Loved the whole setting and gameplay, though I prefer SOTC. (I've heard a lot of people say they still prefer Ico; I co was a bit slow for me at times)

Tua In reply to greyflea [2006-03-29 06:56:25 +0000 UTC]
I think I prefer SOTC overall, but it's not as clearcut as I thought it would be when I first started playing (I was sure I would prefer SOTC from what I'd seen before). I think what would have made SOTC perfect is if they had made getting to each colossus a bit more of a challenge - some ICO style puzzle orientated gameplay. Although I absolutely loved exploring around and just enjoying the scenery, and maybe it would have detracted from the whole minimalism thing they've got going on - so I dunno

greyflea In reply to Tua [2006-03-30 09:16:52 +0000 UTC]
I agree - I thought it was going to be more puzzle-orientated; then again, I consider working out how to get on the Colossus and kill it a puzzle in itself! I spent aaaaagggeesss on some of those *thinks of the last boss* Remember the little cliff area before the first one? I thought each Colossus was going to have a little puzzle section like that before it, but I think that was just a tutorial for the controls! I wonder what the makers of those games will do next?

Yay! A curly detail Greyflea Fest!
A very dynamic, energetic composition. The combination of the skeletal & the muscular on the Beast works well : makes it look eeksome. I also like the splattery drool. This Creature is obviously not following the advice of the 'Etiquette' books...spitting on the floor in this unseemly manner...presumably the Warrior felt that it was his moral and ethical duty to take issue with this and teach the Creature a lesson in manners by giving it a damn good thrashing.
A plan which he didn't perhaps think through thoroughly enough before embarking on...I mean it doesn't look too good for the little fella does it?...what with the claws & the teeth & the spiked tail.

greyflea In reply to Ethereal-Mooncat [2006-03-28 17:45:04 +0000 UTC]
*Laughs* I actually wanted this to be *more* detailed!
Yes, this creature most definitely has looked up the Etiquette rules; such disrespectful behaviour. Tis probably the reason it's being hunted down, 'cannot interact at a socially acceptable level'. A disgrace.
Well, maybe the warrior's got a trick or two up his sleeve, and it about to turn the battle around - let's hope so!
Thanks for the comment! *bows*

More detailed?????
Yeah, that seems a good reason, we can't have Things that can't interact at a sociably acceptable level just wandering around like they own the place! *larfs heartily*
On a more serious note WTF is Flea? Last time I saw him he had been reduced to a decoration on a suit of armour, a mere symbol of his former boingy self. *furrows brow in grave concern*

More detail, more, MORE! *thunder booms*
Hmmm, I dunno, the Chav populace seem to be getting away wih it.
I know, forgive me! I wanted to add Flea to this picture, but I didn't think he had a place in it! This was a one-on-one battle, Flea would have made the odds uneven! I've explained this to Flea, and he said he totally understood, but that he's sick of sitting everything out. This will be rectified.

Cripes! Your quite scary sometimes.
How true, they do indeed!
I'm glad to hear that Flea is still on the scene, as it were. BTW, I've often meant to ask
you : how did Flea come into being? ( and I don't want to hear any answers that begin with the phrase "Well, when a mummy flea & a daddy flea love each other very much..." )

Yay!
Oooo have I not told you? Well he stems from my email, which originated with my old grey longhair cat, George (look here [link] for pictures; he's gorgeous!) The name 'greyflea' came from him, what with his grey fur and fleas (bless him ) At one point at uni, I was just doodling away in a sketchpad, when Flea just appeared on the page; I then did a whole alphabet based on him for a project!
Naturally Flea's version of the story is vastly different; he insists he came to earth from another planet, where he's actually the ruler and is just taking a break from all that power. The usual. 9_9
