Description The last of my villainous characters, Darth Vader! I was advised by a tutor at uni not to complete this image, as he wasn't happy with it, but I thought I'd go ahead and finish it anyway, as it didn't bother me too much. I'd made this one for the tutors, really, as it lacks the detail I'd usually apply to an image, but it still looks part of the posters set. I tried showing various things associated with Vader, like Luke and him battling, the Emperor, Obi-wan, Leia, and his funeral. I think I was perhaps trying to fit too many ideas in, which leads to the 2nd poster I made for Darth Vader (I'll submit it here soon!)

Im really digging this alot. It has a very artistic stylised concept which is hard to pull of with star wars stuff.

I like how these seem to almost imitate, I wanna say, sixtees posters maybe early seventees. At least that's what I think of when I see these. Like an old book cover or something.

*claps delightedly* Great imagery - all of it, though my fave part is the dogfight in deep space in Darth Vader's silhouette. Agree with you though - definitely missing your usual flamboyant detailing. Silly tutors!

Aw thankyou! Strangely, I find this picture very 'undetailed' - I did this to try and satisfy the tutors but it didn't work. I wish I'd went detail-overload on it now! *laughs* Hehe, I loved drawing the space battle though - cheers!

I'm sorry, before I say anything else I have to mention how butch Leia looks in this! Hand on hip, big phallic symbol Your'e probably gonna hit me but who's that in the middle? Obi Wan? I love the two panels at the bottom, espesh the one where they're silouhetted against the steam, and thats the imperial symbol? I'd never have known. Like the different angles on the x wings and tie fighters, real sense of 'battle'.

Good stuff, I really like all the little details you put into these posters, things like the fact the panels are shaped like window on the second death star and on this one I particularly like the space battle scene, even includes the millenium falcon!

Hehe, you noticed the 'Falcon! For some reason when I auto-contrasted in Photoshop, it got rid of loads of the white specked 'stars'; oh well, the orignal still has 'em. Thanks Adam!

Thanks! I'm glad you like the composition, as this was something a few people had a problem with (it just goes to prove art is all about opinion ) I've just updated with the other version - it's quite a bit different from this! Thanks again!
