Actually, she'd make it to about 130,000', far from orbit before the pressure differences would cause her to pop. She may be more durable than a weather balloon, but that is the absolute balloon limit.

Depends on how strong the material is... considering there are now inflatable habitats for space stations, and inflatable habitats considered for lunar colonies.

I guess it's all a matter of conjecture. In the sci fi universe I've written, there exists a magical form of bubblegum.
Used by a common person (ie-not a mage) and the limit is right around 9' diameter per piece.
Used by a mage, however and the limits go out the window, as the gum feeds on that particular mages' connection to the mana around him or her.
Largest bubble on record, in the story-verse is nearly 2000 miles in diameter, as the helpless mage-adept trapped inside, drifted with the solar wind in an outer orbit of Saturn...

And this was seconds before Grizz and Darkwing accidentally hit her with their space-ship, in which she got stuck and safely, although rather embarrassed, returned safely back to earth... Of course she would have to get away before SHUSH started to question that piece of partly melted yellow rubber that was stuck, UNAUTHORIZED, on the side of the space-ship...

It had to happen eventually...
There's been a huge amount of art lately where a Portal 2 reference is thrown in when there's a space background showing one of Glados' eye thingies floating around yelling 'Spaaaaaace'.
I haven't played Portal 2 yet so the reference is lost on me, but I've seen it pop up bloody *everywhere* and it's grating to the nerves of one who hasn't yet played it X_X
