Made her kinda burnt red because I've never liked Nightmare Celestia being white. Too close to her original design, doesn't feel "corrupted" enough
Based her wings off Philomena's, and shamelessly ripped off the idea for molten hooves from Sorelstrasz 's Solar Flare . Because I like this idea of her setting fire to everything she touches :VSome bullshit happened with the overlay on her wings and I'm too lazy to fix it so there. Deal

Totally loving this design! Out of all the Nightmare Celestia's I have seen, I think yours has the best cutie mark. It still resembles Celestia's original mark, but you can see how much more involved in corruption it has gone. I like the fact it spreads over more of her body than the others I have seen. Not going to lie, I kind of fangirl'd when I saw you incorporated the lava hooves out of my Solar Flare. We need people to know where she has been and that she won't go anywhere without leaving her mark! It wasn't as overboard as mine are, but mobility of your Red Sun isn't as jeopardized as mine is.Β
The armor is something that is up in the air for me. Because Red Sun here doesn't have much going on with her body, armor is very fitting. I like how your armor is more sinister and wicked looking than Nightmare Moon's. She definitely looks like she is ready for war.
Another aspect that people can't seem to settle on is what her coat color would be. I've seen red, her original white, black like how mine is, etc. Your color choice is a solid one! For me, the darker her color is, the more contrasting it is with how white her regular self is (for me, showing physical contrasts is an important part of her overall design).
I can't forget about those EYES. You can see just how far gone she is in that menacing stare of hers. The pain, suffering, hatred... it all speaks in that one stare.
Great work here, grievous! Hope your rendition becomes a widely accepted look for what a Nightmare Celestia would really look like

It's not canon, one assumes. Of course, she could go by any name. In fact, based on her sun goddess concept, she'd probably use them all as different titles. (The Red Sun, The Empress of the Dawn, The Bringer of Light, etc.)
