I've always preferred calling her corrupted form Midnight Sun, if only to maintain consistency with Nightmare Moon. Β It's also a real phenomenon: anyone who's been north the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle during the summer can tell you that the day literally "lasts forever," in some places for several weeks.
