Description
I was clearing out my inbox when I noticed an odd group deviation.It was a blank white page with Twilight Sparkle and Frankie Stein on it looking like they had just been cut out of their respective shows and pasted down, so I went to get a closer look.
As it turned out, this was not the usual tracing or cut-and-paste imitation, but made with bases that are specifically designed to be those characters.
And as it turns out, there's a lot of these "bases" floating around.
I say "bases" because last time I checked, a base is supposed to be a blank canvas you draw on top of- not a finished product that can be assembled in 2-3 clicks.
These "bases" are closer to an unholy matrimony between a base and a dollmaker than anything else.
What little creative input you had to put into a base is now gone.

Keep in mind, this is only a fraction of the bases on one account, and the comments are full of requests for more.
Some might argue that people can use these bases to make other things.
This is technically true, but doesn't really seem to be happening.
Unfortunately, people are mostly using these bases to make the EXACT character they represent.

Needless to say, I strongly recommend against making and/or using this type of base, as it is even more limited, unimaginative, and repetitive than the average base, and clearly the temptation to use it for nothing but the character it originally is, is too strong for some people.
If you want to get better at drawing, try using some of tutorials on this very site-there are literally thousands, and each one will help you develop skills you can use to make any number of characters, instead of a carbon copy of one who already exists. ^ ^

Most of the people who use Selenaede's bases actually draw the mane/tail. Those hair sets are usually for if people want to include canon characters with their OC's.
