I'm so surprised by the sprite even tho there's sugar in it, you should try diet sprite next time xD

It has to be the sugars in it, I can't think of any other reason

Will you repeate the test a few times to rule out prior issues with the individual flowers at a later time?
Also I have a theory for the plant growth one, it might have been at a concentration that, when not filtered by root, burned the plant (it looks like what happened to a plant Β or two I may or may not have accidentally brutally murdered by adding too much plant food to the water...)

It seems curious that the plant growth would be the first to die, since it is plant growth after all!Β
shows how different various plant's needs are C:

apparently way to much xD but its not for flowers, its for aquarium plants that might have something to do with it

They all need the same nutrients. I use regular pellet fertilizer in my tank for the root feeders(in a gelcap buried in the substrate). Overdosing ferts for plants is like overdosing vitamins for people, too much is just as bad as not enough! (Btw, I love your aquariums! Yay for fellow fishkeeper!
)

You're welcome! My biggest fish would be my betta! He bosses everyone in the community 40gal. I need to get some schooling fish for my musk turtle's tank to make it more lively. I'm thinking white cloud minnows!

Wow the color change for the fishtank water is so strange!
How do you keep the hot water one warm? or was it only 'hot water' when you first put it in?Β

Didn't really think the one in Sprite would do the best!
This is a neat little experiment!

I think the problem with the plant growth formula is that it's either too concentrated to be good for the plant (overdose) or it doesn't have the right composition for ground plants since its specifically for fishtank/aquatic plants.Β

starting to think that stuff was not a growth formula

AngelKayjae In reply to Jalieu [2016-03-15 18:31:44 +0000 UTC]
Maybe because it was meant for a different type of plant?

I wanna say its because its specific for underwater plants, which I would hazard to guess have different needs than ground based plants like flowers. Still though..
