These are now an open species so you can make your own! no need to ask to make one and please do not sell them in anyway! you can only give designs away for free!Since so many think it is impossible to make up something new by combining water+dog, I beg to differ. Honestly Tina I want to see more closed species from. You are bring up very to the point ideas. Its time people stop the bullying and to chillrelax alot more. If you want to be respected, respect other first! Bringing drama or making pointless arguments will never get you anywhere in the long run and certainly not gain the respect some folks may desire. Its time for us all to learn, this is modern DA, deal with it

Yes THANK YOU for this! Β I'm getting so sick of people hating on closed species for being "too simple" or getting flack for making closed species of my own (which is partially why I only have one active closed species now, apparently my other ideas were too similar to X or Y's designs or too "common" to be considered species, so I gave up and scrapped all of them)
I think people need to grow up and start learning what manners are >:/

Even I was against closed species for the longest time, but I never went around hating on or telling people to stop making them, what I dislike is my problem not everyone elses xD

Well I didn't really understand it to begin with, but I know better than to hate on others for having a different opinion. Β It's not right, regardless of your own stance on the matter (unless the other person has an opinion like "we should kill people of blah race" because that's not good)

x'D in all seriousness though I'm really glad you made this, people seem to forget how many possibilities are hidden out there just right under your nose. They seem to get so caught up in whats seen as popular and sought after that they forget that the original idea was once just in the same spot as any other. Not yet considered or given a chance

When i was just starting with my species i got into a lot of shit
because it apparently looked too much like someone else's species.
(and it clearly didn't)
It finally calmed down now, but they pretty much managed to ruin the start for meΒ
and i was very exited for it.
I'm now always very wary while making species, because i'm afraid someone will just try to accuse me of stealing something >.<

yeah I have been there myself. I used to draw at this site when I first started out and everything was going epic, Iwas super active with everyone and drew tons of giftart to people, which just resulted in me getting tons back! one day I got a note were 4 other girls ganged up on me saying I stole peoples ideas and concepts :/ they went on deviantart looking for shit to compare to what I made to try and make me quit? I dont even know.
but that was insane. Believe me back in the days you couldnt even draw a bird sonic character if someone else did it first. OR let alone draw a black and white character like yin yang. I got so much hate, this one chick left the site, and after 4 years when I left, she came back the same day I left. TALK ABOUT having issues. her character was a white arctic wolf with blue hair. And she didnt want me to steal it or something xDΒ
if you make things your own way, I am pretty sure it will be different. there is always similar things if people use similar bases, like wolves or dogs or dragons and add some random feature to it xD but if you see some like that! sketch around with the idea even more and maybe you make something even more badass and cool!

I am not liking my whiteknights attacking people,
But somehow as you get a so called 'fanbase' Β and quite an amount of watchers
the people just.. stop bitching?
Afraid of 'you and your white knights attacking me' is what someone once told me.
I really don't like that part, but at the same time it protects people ( a watcherbase).
Especially with people like you, who are DA famous,
you kind of become protected because of a silly number called watchers.

ME neither, what I hate worse than whiteknights, are people who use whiteknights as an excuse to attack the artist. This happens waaaaaaaaaaaaay to often xD I mean they are no BETTER, they should be called Hateknigths xD

I really like what you are communicating here.
It is true that an idea exists, we take it and make it our own.
I understand the upset if it is duplicated exactly-every detail. but what an Artist does is takes an already existing idea, change it up and makes it their own. That is what makes us unique.
So to claim ALL "water+dog" or to claim anything as forever yours and cannot be taken in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, that is just going against what an Artist is.
So thanks, for showing all of the community this.

This is honestly one of the hardest things I struggle with to be truthful. I love making creatures and would love to have some more 'Original species' posted but gosh, sometimes I look at them and fear they look too similar to 'X' by so and so...and because so and so is a popular artist, I fear I'd get flamed so hard for being 'unoriginal', yet the creature itself is fairly different, just some of the anatomy is slightly similar.
I honestly don't know anymore what to do about shit like that, so I tend to just not make anything 'closed' unless it's something I've been drawing/planning for like years
People get so touchy with similarities....
