Description With the arrival of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, I thought it would be fun to revisit my MGS collection as it's almost been two years since my last submission of it here .

Contents (starting from the left and then making a "U" to the right:
1) Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence
2) Metal Gear Portable Ops
3) Limited Edition Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker
4) Metal Gear Solid
5) Metal Gear Solid pre-order music disc
6) Metal Gear Solid Integral (not sure what happened to the case)
7) Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes
8) Metal Gear solid 2 demo that came with Z.O.E (I actually wanted ZOE for ZOE - the demo was just icing on the cake so to speak)
9) Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty
10) The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2
11) Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2
12) Limited Edition Metal Gear Solid 4
13) Metal Gear Solid 4 pre-order artbook
14) Original Metal Gear Solid pre-order t-shirt
15) Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker pre-order bandanna

It's crazy now that I think about it. It was back in 1998 when I was introduced to Metal Gear Solid by way of the PSM English translated demo. I had never played anything like it and that demo started it all for me as I'm sure it did for thousands of other gamers. Faster forward to 2010 and I'm still following the Metal Gear Solid story. That's over ten years - ten plus years that I've grown up with Metal Gear games. To this day, each one still manages to be a memorable experience.

I'd love to replay all of the MGS games I have in chronological order to see the story of Big Boss to Old Snake. I think that'd be an amazing gaming experience to go through the series non-stop.

Anyone else a Metal Gear fan? What games have you been following since you were young?

I have that shirt. I love the first 3..well I don't really want to push a hot button about anything after that. I do love Ground Zeroes gameplay mechanics.

Lots of fond memories of the first three but mainly with Metal Gear Solid on the PSX/PSOne. Being a young kid and playing that was magic. MGS4 and beyond just took the series down a crazy path, but I ran with it since that series defined a lot of my childhood gaming. I don't usually get into open world type games, but GZ was a ton of fun gameplay wise.

I guess I didn't get enough Pizza Hut back in the day to even know about that demo disc! But all the same, it's good seeing more exposure of the Metal Gear Solid game back then.

I'd love to get an airsoft P90 one day just because. If you ever do get it, you need to post images!

That's pretty awesome. I was first hooked on Metal Gear through a Pizza Hut demo disc. Remember those? lol. As soon as I beat the demo, I knew I had to have it. Excellent stories across all games. I was really let down when you only got to play Snake a short time in the MGS2. MGS4 was practically an interactive movie. Still intense, though. I have Metal Gear for Nintendo somewhere. I friend gave it to me. I should find that....

P.S. I never got to play the PSP games. =[

It's been too long now. I think I recall Pizza Hut doing demo discs but I didn't know they had one with Metal Gear. I guess I was one of the few that just went with the flow for MGS2 - I didn't mind Raiden. I was just happy to play the next Metal Gear, but it would have been cool if you could go through the game as "Pliskin" even it were a secret you could unlock.

Don't get me wrong, MGS2 was plenty fun. It was definitely nice to experience the game with all of the new stuff you could do (i.e. fpv aiming). I like the idea of playing as Pliskin. Have you ever played the Substance version? I loved all of the VR missions. Which reminds me, Mystery mode on the other VR missions game(Integral) was funny.

I can't say the game affected quite as it did you, because I've never been able to follow it after the first MGS, but I always loved the first one ("Yeah, you've got a great butt!"). That's an awe-inspiring collection.
