Actually, the original names of the spaniel pups were Ruffy, Fluffy, and Scooter. There was a comic strip about the pups that ran during the 50s.

I wish in the second movie the three pups had more of a role in the film and a tleast make the one with the Phil voice a boy and not all three to be girls!

Yup... actually IN the movie they never tell the names of the pups, but yes in the original script...
Then they make the second movie, people obviously had no idea that the pups already had names, and re-named them whatever they wanted

Then came the sequel and made all the girls retarded and named pretty much the same

No, they were Fluffy, Ruffy and Scooter, and then Scamp. None called Darling. In the movie though they are Danielle, Colette and Annette (Scamp stays Scamp), and Scooter changes genders from male to female
