Description Well, here it is, finally. I started it back in June, got distacted by a computer game, then by a holiday, then by another computer game, then by my girlfriend, then by work...but yes, it's finished now. Once again the detail is missing in the picture because of constraints in file-size, and the tonage has altered because I had to use a flash on my camera to make the lines clear against the paper.

I'm off to write a novel now, as part of National Novel Writng Month (go to nanowrimo.org for more info), and hopefully I'll be around after I've done that. Stay safe, peeps.

To be honest, if I tried to explain my dream to her she'd dump me. I'll wait until we're married.

or maybe not even then.
you see, Brad Pitt spends at leats half of the movie at least half naked, and so, by giving zhavas his part, you have technically not only subconciously imagined, but dreamed of, zhavas, half naked. or worse.

By 'You're the type to" I don't mean to be offensive. In fact, I am perhaps being overly defensive...

I really should do some work. I'm actually being paid quite a lot of money to use this computer.

I am a Development Analyst for the Global Online Assessment Department for City & Guilds, Britain's leading Vocational Awarding Body. I make tests to put online.

hah, fancy!
what sort of tests? like "are you addicted to the internet" or "if presented with an unusually boring test on the internet would you either 1.. or 2 ...(and so on and so forth)"?

grthink In reply to Klype [2006-06-07 11:10:36 +0000 UTC]

Nonononononono tests which tell people you're good at your job. Stuff like tests for Mechanics and Hairdressers so they can get certificated. I seem to do a lot of work on test which prove the ability to read. It's very interesting. At any given time I could be an expert at something different.

Ooo, make one for me that proves me quailfied to be an astronaut!

grthink In reply to Klype [2006-06-07 16:01:21 +0000 UTC]

Ummm....I would, but it takes approximately eight different departments and two different companies to get one set up online. But I'll see what I can arrange.

I think the problem is that space travel isn't really a VOCATIONAL qualification, vocational translating roughly to 'Learn on the job'. I should think that learning to be an astronaut on the job would lead quite quickly to death.

and I wont die, becasue I am invinsible. This may be a problem for you in our upcoming fight, sorry I forgot to mention it, if you die I'll pay for the booze.

Ah, invincibility, the cloak of the coward!

I'm currently working on your astronaut test -- within the next month or so I am almost certain I will be able to write you a beautiful test for you to prove your astronautness. I won't be able to accredit you with your spacetravle liscence until you pass, though.

I just mean that your work, like the Elephant and the Large Lady -- they're what I wish I could do. They seem planned out, yet still with the same amount of detail that I acheive.

Plus self-degrading is just an invitation for praise when it comes from me lol

about time
what kind of nibs did you use dude?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

grthink In reply to propagandhi [2005-11-03 09:56:12 +0000 UTC]

I use Edding Profipens -- basically just fineliners, but with permanent, light-fast ink. Most of it was done using a 0.1mm tips, but I occassionally used a 0.3 or 0.5 to hurry myslef along, and then permanent marker pens to fill in the blackest areas. I used a compass to sketch out the initial 'Balls', and then built up around that, and most of the white areas just came from there. I did get over zealous at one point, and filled in an area that I didn't want to (it's the crescent that's at the furthest left-hand side, at the end of a long white "pendulum".

That's great, so intricate, it's almost hypnotic. Any chance of posting a bigger version, or close-ups of the various parts so we can see the detail and the writing?

Good luck with NaNoWriMo by the way, I didn't know you were taking part too! How much have you written so far?

grthink In reply to quenjamin [2005-11-02 12:42:54 +0000 UTC]

As of this very moment, half way through the second day, I havemanaged to write 1,200 words. Which I've worked out as 2.4%, so I need to get my scates on. What's your name on the site? Mine's the hyper-imaginative 'Gareth Hopkins', which incidentally is my name.
