This is the third of my Captain Beefheart portraits, and was by far the hardest. I had the image, I had the quote, but they wouldn't jel...at all. In the end, I settled on this, but may return to the source image again if inspiration hits. I'm really happy with the way that the face turned out -- it's just the rest of it
The colours sort of jumped out during editing -- the actual image is black on white and green. The file size is huge because I couldn't come to a decent compromise, so if you full-view I apologise (unless you have some sort of super-connection, in which case I take the apology back because I'm on crappy dial-up)

It's a photo I found of Beefheart drinking tea, which I've altered digitallyh, printed out and then drawn onto -- geometry set and permanent fineliners.

great picture here though, as with so much of your stuff, the detail is amazing, but its the composition here that really drew me to it, apart from the amazing subject

Yeah, breaking out my Tesco Value Maths Set did work pretty well here.
One day, I'll find some way of incorporating 'A squid eating dough in a polyethelene bag is fast and bulbous, got me?' into a picture. As for 'Neon Meate Dream'...well, I'm a bit too prudish to go for that one.

Highly detailed and skilled work. Never really listened to Captain Beefheart though. I'm more of a Zappa-guy. Ha

I've never actually listened to any Zappa, beleive it or not. Somehow, a lot of people, especially this generation, seem to like one or the other. At least that's what I've noted.
