Description
This was the most frustrating part of this model, but also went by the fastest. Maybe I'm actually learning how Blender works? I don't much care for Godzilla being monochromatic. In the daylight scene from the 2014 movie, and based on the PS4 game model, there is some variation in color. I added a touch of lighter green to his stomach and the bottom of his tail, and added some grey to the spines. I am not happy with the mouth. The bottom teeth are too small and too few, but if I go back to try and fix it now, I'll just find something else and never finish. This is more of a learning experience, so I'm going to forge ahead and try better next time.I used a brush from this link: www.blendswap.com/blends/view/…
The creative commons license requests attribution, but the user hosting the brushes at that link isn't the creator. I believe the creator's YouTube channel is: www.youtube.com/user/jayanamga…
If I have this wrong I'd be glad to fix it to property attribute the brush maker.
One thing I ran into - I don't know how to selectively turn off the material node I used to paint the bumps using the brush stencil. This made more sensitive areas - mouth and eyes - and final touch-ups tricky because painting in a solid color also effected the bump map texture. I'll have to figure that out for future reference.
Next stop is rigging...
