Description
A belated birthday present for my dad. This is my second attempt at realistic feathers in Photoshop, and I have to say... I'm exhausted. I don't like following references this closely, but it was a good learning experience and I'm happy with how it turned out, even if I still have a long way to go in terms of skill. I spent a lot of time during my tweens drawing birds, but it turns out pencils and oil paint work a little different than digital brushes. Who knew? 🙃

Feathers were done partly with my own custom brushes, but mainly with 's awesome brush pack:
