Description
Since I had various backup copies of this saved, I figured I might as well share the process. I know it's not much of a tutorial, but I hope someone can get something out of it.Everything was painted in Photoshop. Basically, I sketched out the lines, colored everything in, roughly blended in the shading to match the direction of the feathers with the smudge tool, then went over everything with feather/fur texture brushes set to 30-60% opacity. For heavily highlighted areas, the brush mode was set to "linear dodge" to produce a sunlit effect. Every body part (belly, wing, tail, head, beak, and feet) was made on a separate layer and then blended together.
