SHARK WEEK IS TOMORROW (July 31, 2011)! Have fun watching "Great White Invasion" and learning why we must save these beautiful creatures!!!

Okay, my goal of completing this before Shark Week 2011 started has been obtained. This is Cordula, my OC of a Great White Shark girl. She has gone through a little bit of a makeover from the last pictures I've posted. I'm thinking I like her old hair style better than this cut/punked style... but every girl is allowed to try a new hair style from time to time. This one just doesn't suit her sweet personality.

I can't believe I forgot all her battle armor....

If you look at her, she's more of a shark-centaur, her waist up being a girl, waist down a great white shark. Looking at a Great White's profile, I discovered their dorsal fin is behind their pectoral fins... So that's why you can't really see her dorsal fin in this picture. I'm ashamed I have been drawing sharks incorrectly all these years -_-;

If she was a more morphed human/shark, I suppose her arms would be her pectoral fins, leaving her dorsal fin to be above the small of her back. But I liked how her pectoral fins add more to her, not looking like a mermaid. What do you think?

For Those Who Care About This Original Character

Cordula is a generally shy and quiet girl, with the massive attack power of a great white shark. However, her personality keeps her from showing the power-side too often.

In the second game I played her in, she had a second personality that was a kleptomaniac, stealing single, expensive items while she was asleep (sleep-stealing?). Not sure why I gave her this personality tab, maybe to make her less nice

With the ocean and the moon having a natural relationship, I felt a "were-shark" theme was fitting. Like a typical werewolf, Cordula is forced from her human form to a true Great White Shark, under the full moon. She would suffocate if she was not in salt water, when the full moons hits. Between the two games I played her in, she has three forms: fully human, fully shark, and mer-shark (pictured above). Her mer-shark form is one she can become at anytime, whenever she wishes.

Cordula is also a vegetarian, which is a choice she forces upon herself. When I play her, she is usually paired with a male who was a vegetarian-sea type (penguin or koi fish). She tries to prove herself non-violent by being a vegetarian (since we all know sharks frenzy with the scent of blood).

^ and that I had as her personality trait years before Finding Nemo hit theaters, but I was cheering in my theater seat when the sharks appeared again, at the end of the film. I glad that the people of Pixar took a shot at giving sharks a positive spin.
