Concept sketch I did for Bob, Sunstreaker's insecticon pet first seen in Transformers#20.Work in progress name was "Spike", but it was changed later, most likely to avoid confusion with the human character.
However he kept the "spikes"

Bob is just amazing... Sunstreaker is probably the only one that can get away with calling a huge creepy Insecticon pet "Bob" and still make it sound badass... haha. Awesome design, I love the spider-like mouth and the little arms... not to mention the little wings on his back.

You know, Bob was never properly explained... So far our fearless storytellers have kind of glossed over the whole Ironhide-and-Sunstreaker-cleanse-Cybertron deal. I hope they at least explain it in a flashback - I want to know more about Bob!

o^o they explaind him. Sunstreaker, when he was talking to Roddi, said they found him alone and he was "surprisingly easy to train." *shrug* Pretty straight forward there.

Yeah, I caught that bit, though I was hoping for more from that branch of the story arc. They kind of left the Insecticon infestation of Cybertron hanging at the end of the Ironhide miniseries. It's that whole "show it rather than tell it" idea that I'm missing.
