Just sharing my process for drawing this piece! Tried to write a little commentary and thoughts in the subtitles while not dragging the video on too long! Let me know if you guys like it and want more in the future!
(This is free and there's no "part 2 behind a paywall"~)
Thanks for your support and love !

Process videos like this are nice and all, but often I find myself wanting to know more about specific brush settings used at specific points than a broad overview of the entire process start to finish. Exact brush settings are the hardest thing to precisely gauge just by watching videos like this, but they're also the part that I believe is the most important to how one gets their final results. Or at least, it's the most important part once you have a grasp of the fundamentals and basic knowledge of the software itself. I'm by no means a master of all aspects of digital painting, but I feel like with what I currently know, more specifics on brush settings and tools used would be the most helpful additional knowledge, but process videos rarely go into that enough. I see illustrations that nailed the texture, that have blends that aren't too smooth or too rough, that have just the right interplay between brush strokes, and those subtle difference are what separate the good from the great. Those subtle differences are also very much based on exact brush settings, so without the brush settings themselves explained/included, knowing the rest of the overall process isn't enough to get those results. Unfortunately, I just can't seem to replicate that aspect of the process by guessing alone no matter how hard I try, but the brushes and tools used to make a piece are undoubtedly as important as any other teachable part of the process.
So to put it simply, I liked the video, but I'd like it even more if you went into more detail on the specific brushes and tools used at certain points. Explaining stuff like the lasso tool is good, but otherwise, exactly what you're doing for the bulk of the painting is the mystery I want to know about. In fact it's kind of funny because using the lasso tool to maintain hard edges or Color Balance for adjustments is stuff I already know about and use regularly, so speaking purely for myself here, there's more than enough explanation on some things but not enough on others.Β Perhaps you could share the brushes and point out specific ones when they're being used? It doesn't have to be listing every single thing used for every single stroke, just occasionally focusing on that stuff in depth would be enough.

I think it would be better to add the other hand onto the sword as I believe it will create a sort of "warrior's pride" strong impression. But this piece is already beautiful as it is, I love the feel you create in your pieces!

Thank you
Very educational video btw.
It's just sometimes that the text is a bit too fast to read. I had to pause it a few times in order to read what you wrote. It's something you might keep in mind for future video's

The video is a little bit too fast but it's great that I saw some video on grayscale because I started using it myself - it's a great way to draw for people who've been drawing with pencils and pens most of their life (and it's hard to suddenly start drawing with colors, so many fails...)

Love the video process. It's a great way to explain the importance of thumbnails and not getting overly detailed..using details for the focal point primarily and keeping the colors toned down. :3 Love the soundtrack too!
