Description
Simon Williams adds some great pathos and dynamics to the Avengers that he gets the nod as well. I also liked his friendship with the Beast.AS usual, this image was created here [link] and edited a bit in paint.net

Oh, Okay ... AND you did Simon! That whole "fricken' cool" thing totally carries over -- you ARE my hero now!

I Had trouble deciding which Simon costume to use. I liked his original one, hated the next two he got (red, yellow, green eyesore and red safari jacket one). Finally I decided on this one.
I'll post a group shot just for you!

Hey, hey, hey! Let us not forget that "red, yellow and green eyesore" was designed by Simon's buddy Hank McCoy (which we will not discuss how very fruity it all seemed at the time -- well, for all eternity, actually ). The original costume is weird to me -- it has all that diamond patterning on it that always makes him look like an Easter egg or a X-Mas ornament or something (which I think was a line of dialogue in "Avengers Two" -- or maybe I imagined it, anyway ...) I have to say that I love, love, love the red safari jacket -- mostly because I totally miss the 70s and I love how those where probably the last days when you could really pull off the whole "Great White Hunter" look with any kind of panache and not look like a totally, politically-incorrect D-bag. I do like the black-tank-top look that he finally landed on, and that seems to be everyone's favourite, but I will always miss that safari jacket with its clever little "W"s hiding on it, the same way I mourn the fact that I never got to ride into Studio 54 on a white horse.
And I would be terribly, terribly flattered to see an Avengers group shot "just for me" -- you're a doll.

I'm not convinced Hank had anything to do with the eyesore, unless Hank is secretly colorblind!
The safari jacket was ok, but whenever Simon appeared outside of the Avengers, he didn't really stand out. (There was an issue of Marvel Team with him and Spider-Man that was just awful!)
Simons best non-Avengers appearence in my opinion was in Defenders #47. Great issue with lots of clever diaglogue! He and Moon Knight in that book reminded me of Superman and Batman done Marvel style.
Hope you like your 2 new pics!
