Ok seeing the above work, I could say that you might have tried finishing it fast cuz competition stuff usually is done faster because time flies so I'll say now that you have to get better at the hair curls and yes the hand watch out for the extra finger syndrome some people sometimes draw out extra fingers you need to be careful of that as for the expression I could say the expressions are on point tho you can always go beyond limits to make the best thing your signature move kinda, also I sense that clothing folds can be improved you can look at tutorial and know where there are usually streches in a cloth as for the BG it's fine, but if you want to get that extra feel, perspectives are key ingredient. Also I would suggest looking more at environment and drawing it out like if a person in house is sleeping try to doodle their face. And draw lots the best way to improve is to draw what you can see that way you can increase your visual library and simultaneously increase your muscle memory. All in all better grasp of some things will make it look much better and when you redraw it, a year later you'll know how drawing and doodling a lot of things helps expand visual library for now I'll say your expressions are the eye catching element in your work..
