Description
This is another cartoon I did for VITAMIN W. Please check it out on their site to generate traffic & make me look good
The cartoon is in response to the nuns who are appealing the birth control mandate in the ACA, which already exempts religious organizations anyway.

Having gone to Catholic school, I find your nuns too sympathetic to the welfare of others.

That is definitely in the Bible; I'm absolutely sure of it. So sure I'm not even going to check because proof denies faith and I'm pretty sure that's in the Bible too.

For those who don't know, the mandate requires that employers sign a form that says they don't cover birth control. Employees need it in order to get their own coverage from independent firms. They hope to change the law so that they don't have to provide the paperwork that allows their employees to complete their coverage elsewhere, thus extending their control over their employees into their private lives and sexual activity.

I got nothing against Catholics, but I might indeed have some problems with the Church.

The whole comic nailed it, but I do agree. I am tired of everyone justifying that their tax dollars shouldn't pay for birth control and that women should keep their fingers crossed. They don't like abortions but are against something that prevents pregnancy. Not everyone that buys birth control are 'sluts' that fuck everyone; some of them are only having sex with one partner which could be either their boyfriend or husband. Birth control is also used to control periods which can be extremely painful. I have painful periods but wouldn't use them myself because of side effects, but I understand that some would prefer it. Birth control like most medicines require a prescription and is expensive. A lot of medicine has to be covered by insurance to pay for it and that should include birth control. If you don't believe in it don't use it and providing it in health insurance for other doesn't in anyways affect your religion because you still aren't using it yourself and the employees you provide it for may not even follow that belief. Yes, taking away a woman's choice based on religion to the point of denying them treatment is in a way controlling their bodies. No one seems to have the same issue with medicine that helps men with their erectile dysfunction.
