Aha, more Mandelbulb. Looks like an interesting fractal prog.
This one made me think of the Shrike at Hyperion for some reason Pain trees and tunnels perhaps.

It is free - Look at this image and in the comments he has the links to the program (FREE) and the tutorial - [link]

I have seen everybody using it and am amazed at the organic but somehow mechanical feel to the works produced..awesome stuff for sure!how long to render? sweet stuff

No long renders at all. I posted a big image over 3000 px wide and it only took 20 minutes to render it.
