Description A little bit too long~~sorry
It's the scene in Victor Hugo's novel Part 2 Book 4 Chapter 5
[ A Five-Franc Piece falls on the Ground and produces a Tumult ]
I remember that neither movies nor musical appears this part~~like the tense atmosphere here!!

LOL it's amusing how Javert's investigating is much like a horror movie scene...Gotta love Javert! And how characters act so freaked out every time he enters the scene XD

This was a great scene to illustrate!

Have you ever heard of Shoujo Cosette? An anime cartoon series based very closely on the book. A few episodes show their time at the Gorbeau House, and the chase with Javert.

I cannot express how much I love your style! I'm amazed by how this piece flows beautifully and carries such suspense without any dialogue. Kudos^^

Pardon me, but what translation of the book do you have?

Thank you!! Glad you love it!!

Translation?? you means the Chinese version?
I only have one volume with simple story... so if i want to look up details β†’ Internet.
And i have never read English version... it's tooooooooo difficult for me to read ˊ_>Λ‹
(as you have seen, i'm also not good at English writing...)
But i'll read it someday!!!when my English becomes better~~ha~~

You're very welcome^^

Ah, okay^^ I'm a rather new "Mizzie" and have decided I'd like to read the brick. I've been polling a few deviants with Les Mis art on which English translation they prefer. I have no doubt you'll read it, too^^

This is simply stunning. Your art is gorgeous, and the way you tell the story without any words is amazingly skillful.

It's not too long at all! In fact every time I scrolled further I was a little afraid that it would be over too soon. It ended up being perfect. Instant favorite!

Every panel, god, there is so much going on, especially in Javert's expressions. And I don't know how you did it, but there is so much suspense and tension in the panels where all we can see is his shoes, for Pete's sake. Everything about this is incredible.

Hadog In reply to NotPotable [2012-07-26 09:26:39 +0000 UTC]

It's very kind of you to say so!!
Telling the story without words is just because i'm not good at English writing Orz...but maybe less is more, it seems not bad after all.
Due to this chapter's character viewpoint, i emphasized Valjean and faded Javert~~and then as you saw, all we can see is a small part of him...
Glad you like it and thanks for your kind comments!!
I try my best to express in English~ hope you can understand ^^

Panel 5 is my absolute favorite, but especially the way it flows with the other panels.

Your English is more than good enough to get your point across! You are very understandable. ^^ And it's much better than my attempts at other languages.

but actually the truth is.....my English writing is too bad
It will be a disaster if i try to put dialogue (with broken grammar) in a serious style story~~ but may be fit for comedies~Ha~~
