I SEE THE SYMBOLS~~

Are the scales Javert is holding, and the feather a reference to the Egyptian Goddess of Truth and Justice Ma'at? Or is it also a reference to the Tarot card of justice? PLEASE, I know that there is symbolism here... Care to explain it? Why is Javert wearing a blind fold, for one. ((I am so curious about this, very nice work!))
