At least you get some sort of face mask in later games that *almost* makes sense.

There's a VERY simple explanation Navi... A Wizard Did It(tm).

Theres been research into possible "oxygen diffuser" methods.
A breathable tunic is actually more likely then a lot of other depictions. (both star wars and james bond have portrayed far too small devices you can attach to your mouth).
The problem is surface area..it takes a *lot of* flowing water to extract enough oxygen for a human. Fish need a lot less.
So the Zora tunic might work if its whole surface acted like a diffuser -and- Link was moving really quickly under water -and- err...it was connected to his mouth.
umm..
Anyway, nice strip

In Twilight Princess, the fish suit (sorry, I always call the Zora Tunic the fish suit) does have a face mask; you can see if you pause while he's wearing it underwater. I find that cool.

Yeah, I always wondered that...that's why I thought the water armor in TP was better, it looked like more than just a recolor, and it also had a mask that covered the bottom half of Link's face, like a breathing mask or something....

No I don't get how the tunic works either but it's still cool to think about and leaves so many oppertunities open. I so like UR interprtation.

This reminds me of something else in Legend of Zelda. In the 2nd dungeon of the game(human Link) when you use the iron boots on a magnetic surface, HIS HAT LAGS!

Oh didnt you know? The Zora tunic comes complete with little gills along the collar of his top that magically attach to his neck and allow him to breathe like a fish underwater. LMAO. HELL I DONT KNOW! Thats my guess tho and Im stickin to it! So there! lol

I say that the Zora tunic hides gills that appear on Link's lower neck area when he dons the aqua cloth.

Hey! u popped my bubble. oh well.
never try to understand the logic of video games especially Zelda cause theres a good chance there is none. thats why i love the game.
Navi's awesome even if she is annoying. i love the DA.
