For anyone who's play Twilight Princess.... The Zora Armour... makes more sense... when your head's underwater, an extra piece of the tunic, covers the mouth... though how it stops water from entering the lungs... I do not know... but... it makes more sense then just throwing on a blue tunic...

If you look at Link's Zora Tunic in Twilight Princess, his mouth is covered by what I think is a bandana (or some other cloth). Maybe the cloth transforms the CO2 (carbon dioxide) we all exhale into O2 (oxygen), which we inhale...but that's only a theory...anywho, really funny.
