Hey guise! I've submitted something I'm relieved.

Well, I guess the picture is self-explanatory, lol. I was looking at AvannaK's "The Only One They Ever Feared" submission and she said, "Has anyone seen a 40-year-old Astrid around yet? Because I haven't" and in my head, I was like, "oh hey das coo'," so I decided to draw it. Both her and I have different conceptions of what we think 40-year-old Astrid looks like, but here's my idea.

Of course Astrid isn't going to stay thin as a post for the rest of her life. I agree that Viking's need a store of fat for the winters (damn, Minnesotan's do too, I can't lie there, hahaha. It gets cold ) but I really can't see her looking like the other women of the village either. She's still going to be thinner, but she does gain weight after having five kids. That's obvious; it happens today as well and it's just as natural. Also, she's not wearing the typical 'armor' because I think that constantly wearing all that heavy armor all the time is going to fade out. I understand why they did while the Vikings of Berk were still enemies with the dragons because raids were unexpected. But now after the new dragon-friendship-dealio, they're going to stop wearing the armor so much and going to wear traditional Norse-style clothing. And, being wife of the Chief, she's going to have a nicer selection of materials to work with and wear, so her outfit here is nicer than what some of the other women would wear. And she's wearing keys because she is the lady of the house

Weeeeell, Astrid's not quite 40 here, maybe like 38, a few years after her youngest child is born (who's probably 10-ish). Anyway, I have an older Hiccup as well, but I have to color that still.
