Description More "Glitterwash" related shtuff. This particular thing is Lilend, a "Leviathan" (giant mutated sea monster in the future, typical shtuff). Let's refer to the trusty ol' "Glitterwash Field Guide" for Lilend's description from the Leviathan Appendix:

"Lilend is a noteworthy Leviathan in that the type of organism she seems to have mutated from appears to have been some sort of flowing plant. Because of this, Lilend can only float around aimlessly (in a similar fashion to Medulla’s means of locomotion) with no sense of what humans define as intelligence. Still, the real danger of Lilend is not one that she needs move around much to invoke; her infectious pollen, once inhaled, compels victims to rush, mindlessly, as quickly as they can through whatever they must into her floating roots to serve as nourishment. A Venus flytrap mixed with a human-targeting cordycep.

Lilend is a beautiful Leviathan and a true sight to behold. But more often than not, this beauty will be the last you are ever to see."

The style is a technique I used for Leviathans for quite awhile in which I would attempt to render in colored pencil using the opposite colors to then scan and invert to give the drawing a "chalk" look to it. Gives an interesting, vivid color to things...and sometimes you get colors you didn't think you would, which keeps things even more interesting.

Is this from a true description of a Leviathan somewhere, or your original design?

It's original; when I said typical, I meant of the Glitterwash Universe (The Broken Earth). That's just a description for that single Leviathan though; they can be thought of almost like Kaiju monsters, although they range from miles long to just a few feet, depending on what the particular creature is (smaller ones are sometimes just living tumors that fall from the flesh of the more enormous ones).

I see that now, when I typed it I was working my way backwards through your world, so I learned more the further backwards I went.Β  I have a very Bizarro view of your story now.

Me hate.Β  Me never like you or your work.

(In case I am waay to nerdy for you to translate, that's opposite speak, not trying to be an ass)Β
