Geek Chic Daily, called my webcomic GATES: "The Island of Dr. Moreau and 1984. On Acid."
The site launched on 10.31.10 and the comic publishes weekly with a new page coming out every Tuesday and articles and other fun posts relative to Gates are being published on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Thanks so much...It was fun to draw. The skin used for her cloth is of a creature in the story called a Gok. The Gok is a massive, worm like plant creature with a retracting head like a dinosaur. The Gok is kind of like the equal to what the buffalo was to the American Indians but...it also eats them.

Thanks for the kind words...I actually got my Brushes from adonis on here...but mainly I use a lot of the generic brushes in CS5. I use the blur tool a lot and lots of layers.

Yep...exactly. You nailed it. It is the skin of a creature called the GOK. I'll be posting concept art of the Gok later.

I like to bust on elves a little here and there. My good friend used to draw for Elf Quest so I constantly use it as a measurement of his manhood.

the bg detail is absolutely amazing, altho, her face and body dont share the same tone, it looks like you cut her face and paste it there, which i'm pretty sure you didnt do..
but all in all, great job and keep it up!!

strange because I was using the same pallet. It's just that her hair is covering her face, so the light hits her arm most vibrantly, that's why it's bighter and maybe gives the illusion of a different skin tone. But I don't see it, maybe I'm too involved.

well, i'm looking at it now, and for me it seems apparent, maybe its cuz her face looks a bit oily and the hands look dry...maybe the difference in polish makes the skin tone look different...
but again, i could be wrong....

It looks great! I especially like the background and her skin tones. Skin is difficult to paint. Her outfit looks really good too; it matches the environment. Something is bothering me about her nose though.

YOU ROCK! I actually had another layer to fix her nose, and it was turned off. I didn't notice it until you mentioned it. VERY COOL! Thank you for pointing that out. I had basically given her too much shading on the side of the highlight, and then corrected it with another layer.

HA! Yeah i changed the lightsource mid way through and the face was already done so I edited it on another layer and then clicked the layer off for some crazy reason. And I never noticed it so thanks for pointing that out.
