Don't be fooled by my simplistic art style. These are all just regular Pokémon.

How This Works:
Tom is the main character of this story, and he's the one who will be competing in the tournament. Reika is tagging along to cheer him on. The Dugtrio, Magneton, Beedrill, Gyarados, Kadabra, and Porygon are the Pokémon Tom will be using to fight. Reika is taking care of Rattata, Raichu, and Nidorino. She will NOT be participating in the tournament, but she may switch some of Tom's Pokémon with hers (depending on how things go).

General Notes:
Tom employs a unique training method for his Pokémon that has resulted in them being noticeably tougher than others. They have greater willpower and higher stats, but almost no formal battle experience whatsoever. They can fight and defend themselves, but they don't have a significant connection with Tom as their trainer. They act on instinct and only take directions when they're given any. They fight on their own without any guidance, but will listen to Tom if he tells them something. Typically, "Go get 'em." is all the instruction they need.

Also, Tom is new to the organized Pokémon battle scene, and he doesn't know much about anything. He's never used a Poké Ball before, he doesn't know how they work, he's never fought another trainer before, and he doesn't tell his Pokémon what to do. This may change as he becomes more experienced in the tournament, but things other trainers take for granted are utter mysteries to him.

Since Round 1, Tom has learned how to use Poké Balls properly and will no longer have trouble using them.

His and Reika's Poké Balls are also labeled with symbols to distinguish them. The symbols match those of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and the balls are labeled as follows.

Tom's Pokémon Team

Dig Dug (Dugtrio):
Raised from a Diglett, Dig Dug is remarkably fast. Tom knows he can trust Dig Dug because he has never tried to run away (which he easily could, since Tom doesn't keep him in a Poké Ball). Dig Dug is hard-working and persistent. He always does his best no matter what the odds. He knows only offensive attacks, but loves finding new ways to apply them. He'll try all sorts of unorthodox methods to achieve victory.
He knows Earthquake, Slash, Dig, Mud-slap, and Fissure. His abilities are Sand Veil and Arena Trap.

Rezbit (Magneton):
Tom's Magneton was found as a Magnemite that came from a meteorite. It has the usual tricks you would expect from a Magneton; electricity, sound waves, paralysis...but it's stoic in nature. Few things surprise it, and it stays quiet most of the time. But it does have a temper, and when it's angry, it gets very aggressive.
It knows Thunderbolt, Sonicboom, Thunder Wave, Supersonic, and Explosion. Its abilities are Magnet Pull and Sturdy.

Since Round 2, Rezbit has been replaced by Bombchu in Tom's party. However, Tom is unaware that this change has occurred. See Reika's Cheering Section for Bombchu's info.

Since Round 3, Tom has become well aware that Bombchu is in the party, and has permanently replaced Rezbit with her.

Since Round 5, Rezbit has been kidnapped and is being held underground by Team Rocket.

Zinger (Beedrill):
This Beedrill was raised from a Weedle, and he still knows some of his oldest tricks. Being the fragile insect that he is, he prefers to dart in and out of the fray quickly, leaving small stings in his wake and slowly wearing out foes with poison. He can zip and dodge quickly, but can only sprint briefly. Even as a Weedle, he had a tough fighting spirit. He'll battle with everything he has, though he's somewhat over-confident.
He knows Silver Wind, Twineedle, Poison Sting, Harden, and Agility (though Tom has no clue how he learned Silver Wind; he's never seen a TM in his life...). His ability is Swarm.

Since Round 5, Kingpin has taken Zinger's place in Tom's party.

De Rol Le (Gyarados):
Raised from a Magikarp, De Rol Le is surprisingly loyal. He has a great deal of willpower from the training Tom has given him, and he can better control his violent urges because of it. He's still ridiculously powerful and has a hot temper, but he knows how to behave and always listens to Tom. He's as surly as you might expect a Gyarados to be. He prefers that other Pokémon to stay out of his way, and will stare down anyone that's annoying him.
He knows Hyper Beam, Hydro Pump, Flail, Dragon Rage, and Leer. His ability is Intimidate.

Mr. T (Kadabra):
The 'T' in this Kadabra's name stands for 'Teleport.' Mr. T is very intelligent, even by Kadabra standards. Lacking physical prowess, he uses his Teleport move to outmaneuver foes rather than to flee. He fights defensively and tries to outwit or overpower enemies with his psychic abilities. He likes to share his wisdom with other Pokémon, and often gives advice to help them out. He never hesitates to speak his mind, but he wouldn't give advice to an opponent in battle.
He knows Confusion, Disable, Recover, Reflect, and Teleport. His abilities are Synchronize and Inner Focus.

h*ttp:// (Porygon):
Tom's Porygon came out of a computer from a science lab near his house. h*ttp:// (don't ask me to pronounce it) absolutely LOVES music. It's often singing or humming various tunes that sound about midi quality coming out of it. It's upbeat and happy most of the time, as it doot doo's all its troubles away. It doesn't like to fight, but it has its cyber tricks to protect it.
It knows Tri Attack, Secret Power, Psybeam, Conversion, and Conversion 2. Its abilities are Trace and Download.

*I had to add a '*' to its name to stop it from becoming a link. Its real name would be spelled without the '*' in it.

Reika's Cheering Section

Splinter (Rattata):
Reika raised her Rattata faithfully, but for some reason, it never chose to evolve. Splinter was mistaken for a male when Reika named her. She's timid and cautious, but can defend herself surprisingly well. The effort Reika put into raising her shows, and she can even take down foes a Rattata normally wouldn't stand a chance against. She has a strong sense of right and wrong and isn't afraid to fight for a worthy cause. She doesn't give up easily, though she gets frustrated when her limitations are met.
She knows Hyper Fang, Bite, Quick Attack, Endeavor, and Tail Whip. Her abilities are Run Away and Guts.

Since Round 5, Splinter has been kidnapped and is being held underground by Team Rocket.

Bombchu (Raichu):
This is one of Tom's Pokémon, but he's not using her for the tournament. She's not as strong as the other Pokémon on Tom's team because he is, for some reason, not as hard on her as he is on the rest of them. In spite of this, she always wants to help in one way or another, and will even go behind Tom's back to do something she thinks will be beneficial. She's kind-hearted and caring, but it doesn't affect her fighting.
She knows Thunderbolt, Slam, Quick Attack, Thunder Wave, and Agility. Her ability is Static.

Since Round 2, Bombchu has replaced Rezbit in Tom's party. However, Tom is unaware this change has occurred.

Since Round 3, Tom has allowed Bombchu to officially replace Rezbit.

Kingpin (Nidorino):
Tom's toughest Pokémon and greatest headache. When his other Pokémon kneel down, Kingpin stands up. He's incredibly strong willed and stubborn. Training him is a pain in the butt, and Tom doesn't trust him to help in the tournament. It's just as well, as Kingpin is prone to running off and doing his own thing. He typically has good intentions, but he's hard fisted and won't back down from any goal he sets for himself.
He knows Horn Attack, Double Kick, Poison Sting, Horn Drill, and Leer. His abilities are Poison Point and Rivalry.

Since Round 5, Kingpin has replaced Zinger in Tom's party.

Since Round 4, Reika was abducted by Team Rocket and Team Galactic. The Pokémon that were with her were also taken, so Rezbit, Splinter, and Kingpin are all missing.

Since Round 5, Reika and Kingpin have rejoined Tom, but Rezbit and Splinter are still missing.
