I like it because it can take me to the past of future, but it can only be used to right the wrongs or change the course of history of what should've happened.

Those refractions, such beauty! If I may be so bold, how long did it take (after modeling/texturing was done) to render and post-process this? I'm just getting into some more diverse 3d elements and I'd love a frame of reference for a higher-poly model like this.

Aaah its been some time now, and i have upgraded somewhat since so it would be faster if did it again, but from what i remember i think a couple of days of rendering at double the size shown here, and about 4-5 hours in photoshop to put it all together, but it ultimately depends on your hardware setup.

the only things that key me off that it is not a photo and indeed a model, is the texture on your rocks. They look a little flat. This should be a simple adjustment with your displacement and normal maps to get it right. then I would just add a little color grading to finish it off. Pretty good stuff. I like the 2002 movie, but felt that it was too short. I have always thought the the "Time Machine" was a hard film to bring to the big screen.

This is a great pic! Can I get your permission to put it on Facebook? As always when I ask this of other artists I will give you full credit by name and share the link to this website so everyone can admire your work as I do. If you say no then you have my word I will not post it. Thanks!

Well, I'm no expert on photo-realism (though in general, not much of it looks truly realistic to me), but to me this is a really really impressive image. Very realistic! Unfortunately, I haven't seen the movie, so I can't comment on the accuracy of the replication. But for a couple of details I easily believe it is a photograph. The only details are the curves in the seat cushion, which look just a little pixelated to me, and some of the dust on the left side looks little non-random, like rays of particles streaming from the time machine. Otherwise, a spectacular piece!

Having said that, I just saw that The Time Machine is on tv right now (if this baseball game ever finishes!), so now I'm going to have to watch it just because!
