Maybe it's becuase of the hussar-ish armour on the right, but this scene reminds me of a polish legend.
The legend about knights slumbering in the mountians, waiting for the right ocassion to be reawakened in the moment of need. 

Than again it is one of those motives that often repeat itself in many cultures, and stories, so it might very well be accidental. Still quite a coincidence.
