Description This is my paper star tutorial - as promised!

I decided to make it a video since well... I suck at diagramming origami steps. xD

This tutorial is brilliant, I can understand it easily. I'm a visual type person, I learn more from watching something than reading about it, so it was really useful to me. I just wanted to know how people make these cute little stars.
Thank you!

is there a way to make it in inches? i don't understand how to make it small enough for a 8 1/2 x 11" paper....i suck at converting and measuring, but i would really like to try this....i also have paper thats 12" x 18"...how wide would it need to be to have it 18" long? (it would be reaaalllllyy big, but 'ractice with bigger and work your way down' is best for me) Thanks!!!! I loved the video by the way, and your neat star with her cute face!

your tutorial really helped me, and now my stars look great! i've tried every tutorial on dA, but then i found out (the hard way) that i need to WATCH someone do it, in real life, or a video. so i went on youtube, but none of them were very descriptive! they just made the star, and didn't tell you how. then i found your tutorial here, with a link to a video. it's the best one by far. thank you SO much!

i think the simpler the tutorial the better. otherwise, it'll be really hard for people to understand... and then what's the point?

Your star tutorial continues to be useful I kept making my stars puffy on one side after watching your tutorial (which was better than before) and I watched it again more carefully and now I get it. Thanks! If only more origami videos were done as well...

Hi I just made a star and was wondering if you knew how to make a puffy heart like that star?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HanaClayWorks In reply to love-videos [2008-05-12 02:28:26 +0000 UTC]

i used to know, but not anymore. to tell you the truth, though, i never liked the way that the hearts turned out since you have to cut the corners off to make it look like a heart. it was kinda lame.

GothiePrincess [2008-02-29 06:58:39 +0000 UTC]

what kind of paper is best for this??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HanaClayWorks In reply to GothiePrincess [2008-03-07 08:24:41 +0000 UTC]

any kind of printed paper, actually... so long as it's not too thick and not too thin.

so don't use: cardstock, cardboard, tissue paper
do use: wrapping paper, writing paper, scrapbooking paper (so long as it's not cardstock), origami paper, etc.
