Description Allllllrighty... CHEESSECAKE TUTORIAL!

Yes, it's late... meh. xD I've been busy (for once) and just haven't had the time to format and put everything together.

As always, sorry for the watermark and things. I can stop doing that when people become honest and stop stealing. =_=

Also, please don't make them for commercial purposes without my consent because that's just mean. T^T Lastly, the finished deviation will be posted later... plate and all! But, have a try at it yourself first!

if find it works better if you add color to the glaze, then it makes it more shiney and realistic looking.:]

HanaClayWorks In reply to toriketch [2008-08-01 00:00:33 +0000 UTC]

i try not to add color to the glaze since i'd be glazing the entire thing and have not had a good experience with the pigments staying in one place ( at water-based stuff). that's why i put it into the TLS- it bakes into the clay and once it's baked and glazed, it looks quite realistic.

cute cake!!!!
looks better than real food.
some clay company should make an edible clay!

what can i use instead of TLS?
i tried flour, water and fimo mixed up
but it didnt look like a sauce.
more like.....an explosion..of white dust

HanaClayWorks In reply to greengelpen [2008-08-01 00:09:42 +0000 UTC]

lol

you could always try coloring the glaze like some other clay artists have suggested. that will dry on its own without baking and can simulate sauce as well.

Chica-Bonita-duh [2008-07-12 05:22:19 +0000 UTC]

is the TLS supposed kind of ... liquidy?
can i add anything to it so its not so ... thick?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HanaClayWorks In reply to Chica-Bonita-duh [2008-07-22 18:00:37 +0000 UTC]

you could always add diluent to the TLS if you want it thinner, but i don't know how that would affect other properties of the liquid clay.

the little cherries are so cool but it looks like they can fall right off if messed with... how hard to you have to press them to the clay to be sturdy? or is it the tls that keeps them on good... just wondering

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HanaClayWorks In reply to Amberry [2008-06-11 06:17:28 +0000 UTC]

nope! they won't fall off at all... it's really the TLS that keeps them together since it's liquid and well... liquid will get into any little crevice hehe

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Amberry In reply to HanaClayWorks [2008-06-11 06:29:42 +0000 UTC]

but if there was no tls on it would it fall off? @_@

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

HanaClayWorks In reply to Amberry [2008-06-11 06:36:41 +0000 UTC]

maybe... if you were rough enough with it. otherwise, you could always press it on a little harder.... but too hard and it'll distort the roundness of the cherries.

Amberry In reply to HanaClayWorks [2008-06-11 06:40:23 +0000 UTC]

meh maybe I am just scared because in my pottery class in high school we had to do a lot to get stuff to stick together @_@

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HanaClayWorks In reply to Amberry [2008-06-11 06:41:28 +0000 UTC]

yeah... that's what's so great about polymer clay- you don't have to MASH MASH MASH to get things to stick... well unless you have really crappy clay. plus, in pottery, you need to keep the clay moist with water at all times, and sometimes that makes it even harder for things to stick together.

well I don't know if I am going to make a cheesecake or anything I think i am just going to test out how hard I need to press stuff down to get it to stick ^_^

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Amberry In reply to Amberry [2008-06-11 06:31:52 +0000 UTC]

er how hard do you need to press clay onto other clay to get it to stay, because I was trying to make decorations on a chocolate candy charm but I mashed down the decorations too hard because I was afraid they would fall off and it just looked like poop so I didn't even bake it @_@
