Description Allllllrighty... CHEESSECAKE TUTORIAL!

Yes, it's late... meh. xD I've been busy (for once) and just haven't had the time to format and put everything together.

As always, sorry for the watermark and things. I can stop doing that when people become honest and stop stealing. =_=

Also, please don't make them for commercial purposes without my consent because that's just mean. T^T Lastly, the finished deviation will be posted later... plate and all! But, have a try at it yourself first!

Argh, sorry >__<

I don't think you can get that in Poland, though. >__>

HanaClayWorks In reply to imaginated-friend [2007-08-06 20:09:46 +0000 UTC]

there's always internet orders if they don't sell it in the stores. try your local craft store first and check in the clay aisles... they might carry it.

imaginated-friend In reply to HanaClayWorks [2007-08-06 20:12:36 +0000 UTC]

Uh, no, not in Poland. xD They just recently introduced FIMO, and you still can get it in only in few shops. And they are getting it from Germany. Internet orders are great, but shipping cost just kills me...I'll search for it, though. <3

sorry to hear. but if you don't have TLS, i think you could just color your glaze and use it that way... haven't tried it myself, but i hear it comes out the same.

ooh this will be useful... if i copy the cake that you've made ill credit it to you in the deviation description.. if i just use the tips such as toothbrushing and freezing (applying them to my own cake designs) shall i credit to you anyway?
thanks for making such a detailed tutorial!

HanaClayWorks In reply to blackhorsewhispers [2007-08-04 18:03:56 +0000 UTC]

you don't have to credit for the techniques. just if you make the exact same piece as in the tutorial. techniques are for sharing. ^_^

*nods* it's annoying when things get all mooshed together due to the clay being too soft.

I love the toothbrush idea. I've been using nylon paintbrushes (the cheapo kind in kids' watercolor sets) but I like that this goes over a greater surface area. Seems like there would be a lot less warping (my biggest problem when I texture >.< ) I knew you added pastels to clay to color it but I seriously never thought to put it in TLS. I've been using oil paint, which does work really well, but I like this too, and I've got tons of pastels anyway.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HanaClayWorks In reply to SupernovaDesigns [2007-07-31 14:26:38 +0000 UTC]

i like the pastels a bit better than oil paints, mainly because it helps to make the consistency of the TLS a bit thicker than it normally is. i mean, TLS isn't runny to begin with, but i think of it as adding "cornstarch" to my sauce so that it drizzles in just the right way, if that makes sense.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SupernovaDesigns In reply to HanaClayWorks [2007-08-01 07:12:53 +0000 UTC]

lol I understand 100% I actually like the oil paints for that reason, because I often thin the TLS anyway so it saves me that step.

still (im)patiently waiting for you to set up shop on Etsy

Happens to me all the time I swear, the employees at the Michael's I go to are starting to recognize me lol. It's like a hole I just keep throwing money into! And now that classes are starting soon, it's not like I'm going to have time to devote to this stuff anymore *sob*! But I'm still probably going to go buy some TLS lol!!

HanaClayWorks In reply to vivee [2007-07-31 02:30:07 +0000 UTC]

you could be like me and bring the stuff to class and work on it during the breaks. xP

Like they said, the plate tricks are really awesome. I never thought to use a needle to give the punched-out pieces a border. And the washer to hold everything in place is simple and brilliant!

thank you! it's the only way that i could possibly ever make plates... and heck, washers are cheap as sin! i think i got about 40 for a little under $2USD
