Description Two newly commissioned Iraqi lieutenants hug after they graduated from the year-long academy.

It was hard to find a dry Iraqi eye in the whole place after they graduated. Overcome with emotion, most of the lieutenants starting crying - some balling.

Reminds me of when I graduated Survival School. Ninety-nine percent of Americans will never know what certain soldiers, airmen, sailors and Marines have gone through for the U.S.

I am the wife of a US Marine who has been to Iraq and back and THIS is why we are there. This moment. To see the people there begin to stand on their own to regain their country. my husband helped in the elections there and to help rebuild three schools and a hospital. He says it was the second most rewarding thing he has ever done.. the first was being a father.

You captured a beautiful moment here.. one that the people of this country surely need to see more of.

By the way, a lot of the middle eastern immigrants in Sweden are racist. If they are angry at someone swedish or someone that looks swedish they immediatly outburst "F***ing swede!"
And if you were to respond "Screw you f***ing arab" they'd go "You racist? You racist man? I'm gonna send my cousins on you and they will f*** ur ass, and your mom too!"
That's what has become of my country. A common expression is to "feel like an alien" in certain situations. Well when I go to school where about 60 % of the people are muslim I feel like I'm the only one not alien there.

What they're doing in my country? My country has some of the greatest living standards in the world, it's one of the most habitable places with most chances for success for the individual person. And since there are millions of muslims already here, ofcourse other muslims are gonna enjoy it too cause this country has already been changed. In an interview in a place called MalmΓΆ in Sweden, one of those female muslims who were a scarf around her head says "It feels like Iraq or some other arabic country. I love it in MalmΓΆ."
To me, that is just deppressing. Think about it, a small neutral country like Sweden with it's old traditions and other perks that makes us interesting to tourism, all that is beginning to dissappear. That makes me a bit sad.

And about me being racist. I'm kind of a misanthropist so I hate people in general, some more than others. However I look down on certain things like women abuse and fanatic fundamentalist religious people, and muslims are some of the most fanatic fundamentalist people there is. I already hate christians, so naturally I hate muslims. I hate the white man too ya know. The only people that I got a lot of respect for are native americans.

well..i dont tottaly disagree with u!! actually i do agree with u in many ways.. and yes what muslisms and christias have made its just plain horrible.. example .. the crusades that was just plain stupid. i hate fanatic religious people.. and well what u say bout your country does sux!!! and yes is sad for sure... seems that u do have some reasons not to like em.. but.. duno if hate..them i cant judge u anyways.... im just saying.. that u can found good people as well as fucking bad people.. no matter what country religion or color is... man..bout native americans.. ill let u know.. americans came from european immigrants.. those mascared the native americans.. now.. the native americans from mexico and or central and south america are discriminated by united states people.. that sux.. cause this territory was ours before them.. and now latinamerican people are the invaders? WTF??? thats how they see it!!!and it sux to!!! btw aint u white folkO_o?

Firstly, if I were to meet an individual arab who proved to have redeeming features, for example if he was an atheist, generally thinking the fanatic muslim people are stupid, and/or he was generally intelligent, then I couldn't care less about where he is from. So whenever I meet people, I stay polite. I tend to spill my mind on the internet though, so sometimes I get myself a bad rap.
And yes I'm white, us swedes are white folk. But I partly hate my own kind as well.
It's a bit complicated. The vikings I liked for killing christians and looting and what not cause that's all stuff that goes in my cool book. However according to the norse mythology, Odin was supposed to be eaten by the great Fenris wolf in the ragnarok war. So my ancestors mercilessly killed wolves which are the creatures I love and worship most of all in the world. Anyone that messes with wolves I consider to be my sworn enemies because of this.
Pretty fucked up, I know.

They can't, it's all in the hat.

To explain that statement, I saw that this person's favorite character is Bender (presumably from Futurama) and I happened to see an episode of Futurama a couple days ago that had a monkey that was given human intelligence through a hat, and someone said "I didn't know monkey's could cry," and the response was "They can't it's all in the hat." So I'm not sure whether that was a Futurama reference or not, but it seemed awfully coincidental. Sorry this is terribly off topic, but I couldn't resist.

That being said, if you're calling Iraqis monkeys (and it seems like you are), that is horribly racist, and I certainly don't agree or condone any statement of the sort. I sort of hope that you were just reminded of a Futurama line and you were just thoughtless in writing it, but I doubt that's the case. If you have an art-related critique, you should feel free to share it, but just making random racist comments is not something anyone here cares to see and just pollutes the community that everyone works very hard to maintain. If it's hostile and not about the art, you should keep it to yourself.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Wolfy-Snackrib In reply to AliKatFin [2008-03-20 08:34:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, part of it was a futurama reference.
I love that show!
I know racists are very ill thought of, but I can't help it. What's going on in my country has turned me a bit racial. I live in Sweden, our politics for immigration is the worst I know of. We let in hundreds of thousands of middle eastern people, and instead of them adapting to our culture and civilisation, our culture and civilisation are adapting to them!
Swedish people are the least patriotic people in the world and we let these arabs that are so proud of themselves, their filthy religion and everything else about their civilisation, have their way with us. Swedes seem to be terrified to make a statement or to cause a fuzz.
And come on people! In the middle east women are stoned to death for having been raped. Can't you see how sick their way of life is? Arabs and vikings in the same country do not match. That's all I have to say about that.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AliKatFin In reply to Wolfy-Snackrib [2008-03-20 16:39:35 +0000 UTC]

I'm not going to bother trying to change your mind or anything, but again, this is an art site and the only critique that really should be given is art-related. Racist comments really have nothing to do with the art, and just provoke unnecessary arguments. And yeah, Futurama is awesome.
