Great Sketch and a great movie!
Okay... I actually frikkin cried a couple of times during that flick... especially when Nimoy was on the screen....
Partly because of the characters... Mostly because I realized that this is the last time I'd see one of the "original" cast members playing their character.
Like Indiana Jones said in the latest film,you get to a point where life stops giving you things and starts taking them away...
I grew up with the hokey old 60's series, and loved every minute of it as a kid. So many of the old cast members have died already. (I was shocked to find out that Majel Barrett-Roddenberry died last December)
I guess Spock's appearances made me so sad because it was like a final "goodbye" from the cast members of the 60's series.
Nobody lives forever... that was a quiet undertone I detected in that film... an undertone that went far beyond the story on the screen...
But still... the torch must be passed... The new Star Trek did it with style!

Wow, I have no idea how much the movie touched you! I can understand the feeling I think, after reading what you felt about it. And the sense of feeling that there's a limited time for someone or something to BE is sad, but it'll remain the hearts and minds of the fans. And as long as they keep playing re-runs on TV, there may even be new fans!

And, as long as they keep making new movies of similar quality, the franchise should stay strong!

was there a baby Spock? I read that there was baby Kirk and Spock in an earlier edit but it's cut out in the theaterical release.

Nice work! I never did expect to see Leonard appearing in the movie, but when I did, I almost squealed like a girl. JJ Abrams' new Star Trek really makes me wanna re-visit the old movies again. What an epic.

hahaha at least you almost squealed. I nearly damned cried! Especially when he said that 'I have been and shall always be ur friend' line. I agree with you there, it's so epic. How awesome was the first 10 min?? It was fast paced and heart wrenching at the same time, it's just crazy.
and yes, like you, I really2 wanna watch the old movies. I didn't catch the really old ones, (I do know lots about Wrath of Khan though!)having only started at First Contact and most the TNG movies but now is a good time as any to start

Was a nice movie everyone fit the characters well. having Spock Prime in it quoting some lines from the old films was good. Only thing I would of changed might of been the "Space the final...." speech having the original kirk doing that instead but it still worked.

JJ abrams originally did want to cast Shatner as a cameo in there , but I read that apparently Shatner insisted that his role be as prominent as Leonard Nimoy, or he'd rather not appear at all. So I guess that's why Nimoy had to read that last bit instead of the original Kirk

Ahh that I was not aware of and it makes sense in the movie for only a cameo since when Spock goes back in time Kirks long gone by then given the Generations ending.

That is an epic Spock!
Saw it when it came out after getting eveything sorted out at the Acen. My friends and I wore the uniforms and even did the battle theme with our kazoos during the fight scenes.
