After four years not making any art whatsoever, I put up a mirror for the awful self-portrait. Went to a cave that used to be right in the middle of town if you knew where to find it. Invented the wall and steps. And drew my own hand from life. Clearly, this is a work done without any study of anatomy. I have kept it, and show it here for the novelty of it, all the aged spots etc. I do remember it took a long time to do. In fact I signed it B.C. Tracy 72-73. (B for Bob and C for my middle name, Charles.)

THIS MIGHT BE YOUR BEST SELF-PORTRAIT, ALTHOUGH IT IS FROM A DIFFERENT PERIOD OF YOUR LIFE. THIS IS YOU AT THAT TIME. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVS...I LOVE ABSTRACTS AND THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST. I LOVE ALL THE ELEMENTS YOU HAVE PUT INTO THIS ONE. THE STEPS, THE CAVE, YOU, YOUR HAND (THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE JOB HOW IT LOOKS AS IF IT IS SMASHED BETWEEN THE WOOD) AND THE GRASS COMBINE TO MAKE A VERY INTERESTING PIECE OF ART (AND ALSO YOUR HISTORY). THANKS FOR SHARING THIS EARLY PIECE. DEFINITELY IN MY TOP 10!

There aren't any good self-portraits. But I thank your for your liking it. Let us tell the world that you and I knew each other at that time and had known each other for almost 10 years. So there might be some bias here.
