In a small space in the basement, the girl's work is so important to her that no matter what she'll get it done.

Note that the light bulb against the wall is not turned on. It has a cast shadow from the unseen light bulb directly above the girl.

^^ No problem, it reminds me of testing season because that's how most of the people are posing like when they are testing.

You really managed to get a strong tint and color scheme in here, while still using a variety of colors. That blows my mind. Oil paints are hard to work with!!

I featured you, hope you don't mind: [link]

Thank you very much. Yes, every picture has a story. Every story has a picture.

this is great, the pencil with a rubber doesn't fit though (it's too modern).

It's very impressive. I could never do such beautiful pictures not even with help from my computer. Very nice.
I really love that you can still see the rough material through brushes strokes here an there. I'd put it to my wall if it'd fit my style of furniture

She's so pretty. She looks like she's exhausted, but the writing must go on!

Yes, she will not let anything get in her way. She will work in the almost dark place, or basement. Wherever she may find a private place to finish her work.

Well, your gallery is so wonderful that is hard to pick one...and I like to look at all the the pieces when I visit someones gallery, not just the ones on the front page...its a pleasure to do it, especially in great ones like yours

Your work is beautiful, Hank. This piece in particular caught my eye. You can actually sense her determination in her posture. My dad was an airforce combat photographer in Vietnam, and my father-in-law did 2 tours with the Marines. I thank you (and them) for your service.

Bridget,

Thank you very much. You see my painting well.

A Semper Fi! to your father and your father-in-law.

All the best to you,

Robert

Ha! Indeed it turned out she did need glasses. But I know you know the meaning in the painting. You say "Wonderful pose."

Cheers,

Robert

i find it neat that you use yellows and oranges on all the forgeground objects which contrasts the greens, grays, browns, and blacks in the background. very nice.

I love paintings that get stories and memories rolling around in my head as I look at them. The last minute, secret flurry of birthday card signing is commonplace at our house. We have also done 'secret friend' missions where we make and sneak in secret gifts and notes to our chosen friend for the day. Happy memories all stirred by this one.
