Got to get one's drapery right. Just a study for folds, shading and shadows for other drawings and paintings to come.

THIS IS MUCH HARDER THAN IT APPEARS. YOU HAVE DONE A WONDERFUL JOB HERE.... EXCELLENT SHADING AND INITIALLY ARRANGING THE FABRIC TO FOLD SUCH AS THIS IS NOT AN EASY TASK EITHER. IT IS WONDERFUL TO ME!!

I think I owe you a thank you.
I do see in some drapery studies folds that really should be left out, and other folds that are omitted, but can see they should be there.
Drapery is difficult.

...well,my thanks are to you for showing your inspiring works here
...yes indeed...I find them rather soothing myself....it takes you to another headspace altogether to do still-life studies..[well,that's my experience!?]

Robert this work is a great reminder that it is important to learn to treat each part of a work as important as the next part. Which sounds simple but I think is the challenge for many people.

Warren,
Something one must learn, drapery.
Again, something old that today I would do better at. But a beginner must go for it.

Carlos (Charles?),
Yes, I see you have a Drapery Study of your own. But it doesn't say it's your work. I suspect it is. Like your study after Michelangelo, it's your study after another's work.

wow, that's wonderful. I love sketching fabric like that, it always brings back memories of this picture i saw when i was really young, some old oil painting of a woman in a vibrant silk dress. I think pictures like this are beautiful.

This is lovely. As you know the old masters did these all the times and considered them a great test of an artists abilities! Well Done!
