Well done! ( You look like the ''boy next door'' the one I would like to keep bumping into. )

Dearest Remmy,

You are so sweet. When I look at your avatar I always think that's you. You have a kind spirit that seems to go well with your avatar.

I put up in my Journal today finally how it is. I thought that I should show my wife, the one who has stood by me all these years.

I am the "boy next door". I can't imagine how my wife lived only half a mile from me all the time we were both growing up, and I didn't find her till she was 15.

And I got a letter every day in Vietnam from her, even if it was only an "I love you".

Do you see what I see? In the photo she's in her 50's as I am, but to me she'll always look like she did when I first met her. And it's true that she has this girlish sense of life that keeps her looking young.

Thank you for wanting to "keep bumping into" me. And at DA, that's just what you are doing.

Robert

There are some who will be young forever. I think you and your wife will always be 15 in your hearts.

You're most welcome, for it's such an enjoyable ''bump''.

This is very awesome!

Well thank you. I was always told this. Good genes, or good living?

My wife too keeps her age. She still looks like the girl I met at age 15.

My God! My wife will like to see your comment. She loves Elvis. In fact, she said when we first met when she was 15, and I was 16, that I looked like Elvis. I wanted to look like Paul McCartney. No luck there.

From the more recent photo I've seen of you, you can certainly see the effect age has on a body when compared to this. A superb work to be sure.

I find it sometimes strange to look at younger photos of myself. Though only 24, I often find myself feeling so old. I cannot imagon what it must be like to live for more than twice my current age...but then again, when I was younger, such was also true of this age.

hank1 In reply to osyris [2007-04-17 16:52:20 +0000 UTC]

OH, I have to gently disagree. I used for this painting a photo my wife took when I wasn't really expecting it. The year after this painting I stopped at a bar and was denied entrance. I had forgotten my ID, and they didn't think I looked old enough to be admitted.

My younger daughter (now 34) still looks like barely 20. She complained to me and I told her to relish the fact that she has kept her youthful looks.

Now at age 58 I still get this. "You don't look like you could possibly be nearing 60."

I think it has to do with a couple of things. How one lives his life morally. And just good genes.

My wife still looks girlish at age 56.

Thank you for your compliment on this "superb work".

Dear Tatiana,

Thank you for this.

I put up in my Journal a photo of both my wife and myself. My wife I've known since she was 15. She's my inspiration. She's the one who has always said to me: "You can do it. I have confidence in you." I owe her a great deal.

Dear Robert,

I checked your journal yesterday but unfortunately I had no time to leave a comment there. What a wonderful pair you are! I am glad that you have such a wonderful muse beside you it protects and supports in all ways you go. I wish I had such support as you. I had my husband (this year will be 10 years since we married) and he encourages me as far as he can but business makes each of us leaving on our own so from time to time I stand alone. Well, I wish you all the very best. Let’s be in touch.

Truly,

Tatiana

Olga,

Yes. My wife took a photo of me, a shot that was candid, not expected. Only she can capture me in a photo that I sometimes like.
